Richard Rice

May 27, 1971 – March 2, 2016

Richard was born May 27, 1971 and passed away March 2, 2016 at the age of 44. He was diagnosed in August of 2013, a month after starting his own trucking company. He had a mole on his shoulder that was dark and started bothering him which turned out to be melanoma. He then started treatment at KU Medical Center and due to the advancement of the cancer was referred to MD Anderson in Houston, TX. He fought a courageous battle with melanoma and was a huge supporter with the melanoma warriors.

Richard was a passionate business owner/operator of his own trucking company. He loved driving and was proud of his driving skills he learned while growing up on the family dairy farm in Blue Springs. He excelled in everything and anything he set his mind to. He was passionate about family and friends and was always there for any one in need.

Cancer was his hardest fight one of which he never gave up on and fought it to the end.
