Outpacing Melanoma Supporter,
It is our goal to make our 9 th annual “virtual” 5K a memorable one! Because May is National Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness Month, we encourage you to run/walk your 5K anytime throughout the month of May.
Remember to take selfies or small group photos in your “Team” t-shirts (if you have one) as well as photos of your “Warrior Wall” posters/items and share them with us by emailing them to OutpacingMelanoma@gmail.com with the hashtag #OM5K2020.
Then join us Sunday, May 31, at 8AM on our Outpacing Melanoma – every step of the way Facebook page Live (link provided later in May) to hear from survivor speakers as well as the latest melanoma updates from Melanoma specialist Dr. Gary Doolittle. During this time, we will begin posting all of the photos/videos that were shared with us throughout the month. We will also announce our top teams and fundraisers. Every penny raised will benefit the melanoma program at The University of Kansas Cancer Center through the Richard A. Klover Melanoma Fund. If you purchased Koozies or bracelets we will begin mailing them out next week.
Although we wish we could be together on race day, having a virtual event allows us to include many people who would not have been able to attend our event under normal circumstances. Thank you again for all your patience and support as we go through this time together. We look forward to seeing your photos and hope you will plan to join us on Sunday, May 31st for our live event.
